Where literature meets the daily challenge.
In a world of short-form content, vanishing tweets and negative keyboard warriors, Poetable aims to carve out a space for the timeless. Our mission is to make classic literature accessible, engaging, and part of your daily digital routine.
We believe that by turning the reading of a poem into an interactive challenge, we can help people rediscover the beauty of the written word.
We are focussed on adding the well known, loved poetry that you may have learnt at school, from you parents before you even knew what poetry was. The poems are sourced from the open source libraries, but also painstakingly typed in from older actual paper book collections! (OK, some OCR may have been involved, but each word was compared by a human too before being accepted).
In the future we hope to be able to profile contemporary poets who which to partner with use to use the platform to spread their work and gain a following.
Poetable was born out of a simple observation: we loved the daily habit of some Word games, but we missed the substance. As lovers of literature, we wanted a game that didn't just test our vocabulary, but connected us to something deeper.
What makes Poetable unique is the context. You aren't just solving for a random five-letter word; you are solving for rhythm, rhyme, and meaning. It's a game that rewards literary intuition and helps you internalize the works of the greats—from Poe and Whitman to Angelou and Frost.
While many popular Word games focus on the individual word, Poetable focuses on the stanza. We aim to be the premier destination for daily word game enthusiasts who want to graduate to the next level of literary immersion.
All at your own pace - no pressure.
Poetable was concieved by Rocky, who wanted a way to engage with poetry in a fun way. With the wisdom of age he has had this idea percolating for many years before the time was right to bring it to life. That's where Bruce comes in.
Poetable is curated and maintained by Bruce, with good advice from Rocky. Bruce is a sometimes lover of poetry, but has always been a lover of word games With many years behind the keyboard, and helping others, Bruce created this platform to bridge the gap between a classic art and modern way to spend some good time on your device.
Sure, I have used AI and vibecoding to help me get past the coding challenges (and there are many), but the concept remains a human endeavour.. AI is has almost got the idea... Here’s what one of the popular AIs “thinks” the site is about:
So what does “poetable” mean here? In this context: “Poetable” = a made‑up brand name for a poetry website. It is not an English word and has no dictionary meaning. These elements look like:
